Libby Ranero is in her 12th season as head coach for the Rowan University women’s volleyball team. At the University, Ranero has a 141-171 coaching record. She returned for her second stint as head coach of the Profs in 2006.

Last season, Rowan posted their best mark since 2004, going 22-9 and qualified for the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Championship Tournament. The Profs earned a first round bye, but fell to Rutgers-Camden in the semifinals.

In 2011, the Profs went 15-16 and earned a berth in the conference tournament. In 2010, Rowan posted a 17-14 mark for its first winning season since 2004. The Profs advanced to the semifinals of NJAC Championship Tournament. In 2009, the Profs went 13-17 overall and reached the conference tournament. In 2008, Rowan finished with a 16-18 record and advanced to the semifinals of the NJAC Championship Tournament. In 2007, the Profs went 11-17 and appeared in the conference tournament for the first time since 2004. In 2006, Ranero guided Rowan to a 6-18 record following a one-year hiatus of the women’s volleyball program.

Previously, Ranero coached the Profs from 1995-98. In four years, she compiled a record of 41-62 and the women’s volleyball team made three appearances in the NJAC Championship Tournament (1996-98).

After her first campaign at Rowan, Ranero was the head volleyball coach and teacher at Westminster Christian School (FL) from 1999-2004. She guided WCS to six straight state playoffs and three elite eight appearances. Her teams were ranked in the top 10 in the Florida State Poll (as high as eighth in 2000, third in 2002 and fifth in 2003). Six of Ranero’s players were named All-Miami-Dade County first team, one was the 2001 Player of the Year and received All-State second team honors.

Ranero was the assistant women’s volleyball coach at Appalachian State University (NC) from 1993-94 and at Watauga High School (NC) from 1991-92. During that time, Appalachian State won the Southern Conference Championship and advanced to the NCAA Division I National Championship Tournament. She was also the Maclay Middle School (FL) volleyball coach for one season (1988).

Ranero is currently on the NCAA Division III women’s volleyball New York regional advisory committee. She graduated from Florida State University in 1989 with a bachelor’s in movement science and physical education. Prior to FSU, Ranero attended Miami-Dade South Community College and lettered in volleyball from 1985-86.
