This is Shawna Wert’s first season on the Rowan University women’s basketball staff.
Prior, she was an assistant coach at Susquehanna University from 2016-17 and an intern at King’s College from 2014-16. Wert was responsible for assisting the head coach in all aspects of a competitive NCAA Division III program.
She played college basketball at Shippensburg University and graduated in 2004 with a bachelor’s in exercise science. Wert earned Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division All-Conference second team honors. She scored her 1,000 career point in November 2012. Wert was among the leaders in the conference in scoring, free throw percentage and minutes played.
She attended Washington Township High School. Wert was the 2009 Gloucester County Girls High School Basketball Player of the Year. She recorded her 1,000 career point in March 2009.
Wert earned a master’s in sports management at Wilmington University in December 2016. She is currently a personal trainer/coach at The Edge Fitness Clubs in Sewell, NJ.
