This is the ninth season for Gabby Lisella as the head women’s basketball coach at Rowan University. She is the eighth head coach for the sport at the University. Her eight year record stands at 107-96. In addition, Lisella is an assistant athletic director.

Under Lisella, two Rowan players have been named the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Player of the Year and one was selected the conference's Rookie of the Year. Fifteen players were chosen to the All-Conference teams. She has had two players receive Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA)/Kodak All-America honors.

Last season, the Profs went 15-11 and made an appearance in the NJAC Championship Tournament. In 2007, Rowan posted a 9-16 record. Rowan had a final record of 6-19 in 2006. The Profs finished the 2005 season with a 16-11 record and they advanced to the championship of the NJAC tournament. In 2004, Rowan had an overall record of 21-5. The Profs finished first in the Gold Division of the NJAC and advanced to the conference championship tournament. Rowan had a 13-11 overall record in 2002 and was 10-15 in 2003. In her first season, Lisella guided the Profs to a 17-8 record and the NJAC Championship Tournament.

Lisella came to Rowan after five years as women’s basketball coach and assistant athletic director at Oswego State (NY). In 2000, she guided the Lakers to their second straight conference tournament appearance. Her squad made its first ever trip to the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Championship Tournament in 1999 and set the school record for wins in a season with a 14-11 mark. It was the Lakers’ first winning season in 16 years. Lisella was selected the SUNYAC Coach of the Year. Under Lisella, seven players received SUNYAC All-Conference honors including a school record three selections last season. Her players rewrote the Oswego State record book during her tenure.

Prior to Oswego, Lisella was the head women’s basketball coach at the University of the South (TN) from 1991-95. She was also the assistant coach for softball and soccer and a physical education instructor. In addition, Lisella was the interim head women’s basketball coach at St. Lawrence University (NY) for the 1990-91 season. At St. Lawrence, she was the head volleyball coach and a physical education instructor.

Lisella was the junior varsity women’s basketball coach and assistant lacrosse coach at Cortland State (NY) from 1989-90. She graduated from East Stroudsburg University with a bachelor’s in health and physical education in 1985 and earned a master’s in physical education from Cortland State in 1994. At East Stroudsburg, Lisella played varsity basketball (1980-84) and volleyball (1983-84). She was captain of the volleyball team and was an All-Conference first team selection.

From 1997, Lisella was a member of the NCAA Division III Regional Advisory Committee. She is a member of the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association, the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletic Administrators, National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics, National Association of Division III Athletic Administrators and New York State Women’s Coaches Athletic Association. In the SUNYAC, Lisella was chair of the women’s division and the women’s basketball committee.

Lisella is a member of the WBCA Coach of the Year selection committee. In 2006, she served on the WBCA Kodak All-America selection committee. She was the director of the Oswego State Girls’ Basketball Camps and Little Lakers Basketball Clinics. In addition, she has coached at the Pat Head Summitt Basketball Camp, Syracuse University Basketball Camp, Cornell University Basketball Camp, Fast Break Basketball Camp at Rowan University, Troy Girls’ Basketball Camp (PA), Camp St. Andrew Basketball Camp and Cathy Rush Basketball Camp (PA).
