Jesse Lyman is in his fourth year as the men’s and women’s diving coach at Rowan University.
During Lyman's tenure in Glassboro, John Morris earned All-America honors twice and All-America honorable mention three times at the NCAA Championships, with his highest finish (fifth) coming on the one and three-meter boards in 2017. Morris was also a three-time winner of the Diver of the Meet award at the Metropolitan Championships and finished his career as the school-record holder in both one and three-meter diving. He also garnered New Jersey Athletic Conference Diver of the Year accolades four times.
Sean Piacente took first in the one and three-meter diving at the 2017 Metropolitan Championships and was chosen the Diver of the Meet. He qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships. Lyman has been named the Diving Coach of the Year three times at Mets.
Lyman has over a decade of club coaching experience and runs a club diving team, Top Spin Diving, based at Rowan. He has also guided athletes at Barclay Farm Swim Club (2014), Tiger Aquatics (2010-2013), and Downs Farm and Old Orchard Swim Clubs (2006-2009).
Lyman was a four-year Division I diver at Louisiana State University (LSU). He was a two-time NCAA Regional qualifier and had career bests of 329.78 (one-meter), 332.95 (three-meter) and 252.20 (platform). A Cherry Hill High School East graduate, Lyman placed third in the state and helped the Cougars to a conference championship in 2009.
Outside of coaching, Lyman is the Director of Marketing for the Professional Diving Coaches Association and the CEO of Getta-Gripp, an athletic grip for athletes.
Lyman graduated from LSU with a degree in history education and a minor in political science.
