John Brennan, Jr., Ed.D., joined the Profs’ coaching staff for the 2023-24 season. He is the older brother of head coach Eric Brennan.
Brennan has worked with successful high school programs, serving most recently an assistant boys’ basketball coach with Neumann Goretti High School (2018-23). The Saints captured the Philadelphia Catholic League championship in both 2020 and 2022 and was the Pennsylvania State champion in 2022. The team also earned District 12 Philadelphia city titles in 2019, 2020, 2022 and 2023. He served as the head coach of the school’s Nike Chosen League team that won the 2019 championship and has coached and developed numerous players that played at the Division I level and in the NBA.
Brennan also served as an assistant coach at Cardinal O’Hara High School (2016-18), at Valley Forge Military College (2013-15) and Neumann University (2009-11), where he recruited and coached four CSAC All-Conference players.
Originally from Chester, PA, Brennan received his bachelor’s degree in sport management from Temple University in 2007, and a master’s degree in education from La Salle in 2010. He went on to earn his doctorate in higher education leadership from Widener in 2020.
Brennan and his wife, Steph, have a daughter, Maeve, and an infant son, Archie.
