GLASSBORO, NJ -- Rowan survived the elements to come away with a 9-0 win over Lycoming for the team's second-straight shutout on a rainy Saturday at Coach Richard Wackar Stadium.

Michael Zarfati had 102 receiving yards and a score while Tyshawn Bookman added 99 yards on the ground as the Profs (2-1) recorded back-to-back shutouts for the first time since 2012.

Trey Helmick led the defense with 10 tackles (three for losses), a sack, forced fumble and a pass breakup to spark Rowan in limiting the Warriors (1-3) to just five first downs and 118 total yards including a safety in the third quarter and a blocked field goal in the fourth. The Profs held Lycoming to just 1-of-13 on third downs as well. Xavier McBride added seven stops with four pass breakups with AJ Ryker kicking in a pair of fumble recoveries in the win.

High winds and rain played a factor throughout the first half as the teams combined for 82 first-half yards with seven total fumbles and 11 punts. The teams went into the locker room scoreless at the break.

Lycoming's first possession of the second half ended with a punt out of the Rowan end zone, but the snap was mishandled by punter Brady Jordan for the game's first points via a safety.

The Profs would start its lone scoring drive at its own 40 at the end of the third quarter. On the first play of the fourth from the Lycoming 32, quarterback Nate Maiers found Zarfati over the middle to cap a six-play, 60-yard drive. The TD was Zarfati's team-leading fifth while the junior finished with over 100 yards for the third game in a row.

Lycoming looked to stay in the contest on its next drive, moving all the way down to the Rowan 10. On a fourth and 5, the Warriors attempted a short field goal, but not before Luis Placido got a hand on the attempt to keep the visitors off the board.

Later in the fourth and up nine points, the Profs took over after a fourth down stop near midfield and ran out the clock to notch its second win of the year.

Rowan opens NJAC play next Saturday at home when Vermont State-Castleton visits Glassboro on Family Weekend in a 1 p.m. kickoff.
