Michael Zarfati had three touchdown receptions and
Kam Brown recorded three interceptions, with two returned for touchdowns, as (RV) Rowan rolled to a record-setting 79-0 win over Vermont State Castleton to open NJAC play. The Profs have won three in a row, improving to 3-1.

The Profs broke the school record for points scored in a game (previous was 72 vs. Western Connecticut State in 2009) and recorded the largest margin of victory (previous 67 vs. Morrisville State in 2009
). The defense also set a program record with its third-straight shutout.

Rowan scored touchdowns on its first six drives and seven of its first eight, rolling up 547 yards of offense while limiting the Spartans to just 24.

Rowan jumped out to a 21-0 lead in the first seven minutes, including a touchdown on the game's second play. Maiers connected with
Nunes Bukula IV for a 47-yard reception at 13:33.

Just 12 seconds later, the Profs' defense added a pick-six when
Kam Brown intercepted an RJ Monger pass at the 11-yard line and ran it in. Brown recorded his second interception on Castleton's next play after kickoff, starting a Rowan drive that resulted in its third touchdown as
Nigel Jennings capped off a 38-yard drive with a four-yard run for the 21-0 lead.

Maiers and
Michael Zarfati connected for a 73-yard reception at 8:04 for the Profs' 28th consecutive point, and the duo team up again three minutes later for a 30-yard play and a 35-0 Rowan lead.

Bukula needed just two plays to score his second TD of the game, as he rushed for 43 yards and then finished off the drive on the next play going seven yards, as Rowan closed out the first quarter leading 42-0.

Maiers to Zarfati worked again at the start of the second, with the duo connecting for an 18-yard score at 14:13. Brown quickly upped the score to 56-0 with his second pick-six of the game. Bukula crossed the goal line for the third time with a three-yard run to give Rowan a 63-0 halftime lead.

Luis Placido recorded Rowan's third interception and return for a touchdown, at 13:33 of the fourth quarter.

Rowan closed out the win with a fourth-quarter
Daysir Spille one-yard TD plunge and then a safety as
Chidiogo Iherobiem blocked a Castleton punt that went out of the end zone with 6:10 to play.

Zartafi finished with 190 yards on six grabs and three scores, all career highs. Bukula IV totaled 138 yards combined with three TD's . Quarterback
Nate Maiers threw for 302 yards on just 11-for-15 passing, eight yards shy of tying a career best.

Defensively, Brown finished with three interceptions, tying a team record for most in a game.
