Olivia Nicolucci,
Hannah Ferris, and
Abigail Bivona were cited by the New Jersey Athletic Conference in its weekly player of the week honors for the week ending September 13th.
Nicolucci was selected the NJAC Field Hockey Rookie of the Week. The freshman forward scored the first goal of her career, and finished the game with two, as the Profs defeated Muhlenberg, 7-0, for their first win of the year. She tallied the game's first goal, which was the eventual gamewinnner, at 39:10. Nicolucci then followed with Rowan's third goal of the game at 50:41.
Ferris earned the NJAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week as the junior scored with 1:22 remaining to lift Rowan to a 2-1 win at #13 Swarthmore on Wednesday as the team went 2-0 last week. The junior's first career goal was off a header in the box after a corner kick scrum.
Bivona was named the NJAC Women's Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week. In a 3-0 week with all wins coming via sweeps, Bivona totaled 12 blocks (two solo) and 12 kills at the Neumann Knights Invitational. On Saturday, the sophomore recorded four kills and six blocks (two solo) in the 3-0 win over Arcadia then posted four more kills and five blocks against Ursinus.
After starting the year with three straight road games, #24 Field Hockey (1-3) will host Catholic on Wednesday and then Haverford on Saturday.
This Saturday, #18 Women's Soccer (3-0) welcomes St. Mary's (Md.) and Women's Volleyball (6-2) hosts Haverford both here in Glassboro.
