UNION, NJ --
Abigail Pawlowski went a combined 4-for-6 to help #14 Rowan sweep a NJAC Doubleheader at Kean on Friday. The Profs ran away with a 10-2 victory in game one and used Pawlowski's two-run home run in game two to win, 4-1.
Game one
Zoey Rogers and
Ava Fisher each doubled and knocked in three runs while starter
BethAnne Doderer yielded two runs on just three hits with six strikeouts and three walks.
Fisher's two-run blast was part of a three-run third inning. The homer was the sophomore's fifth on the year, which ties her for the conference lead. In the next inning, Rogers doubled in two runs and later scored on Fisher's two-bagger for a 6-0 lead.
Rogers added a sac fly in the sixth to plate
Zara MacNair. In the seventh, MacNair drove a run in on an infield hit. She, along with
Carly Polsky would score on a double from
Mikayla Dansky.
Doderer (10-2) allowed just three baserunners over the first five innings before the Cougars scored twice in the sixth.
Madison Cooley came on in the seventh and sent the lineup down in order to lock up the win.
Game two
Rowan trailed 1-0 into the fourth before Pawlowski hit her second career home run to give the visitors the lead for good.
Rogers doubled home MacNair in the fifth before Dansky struck again with an RBI double in the sixth to account for the scoring.
Pawlowski and Polsky each had two hits in the win.
Emily McCutcheon (8-5) fanned seven with no walks, giving up the unearned run on six hits for the complete game victory. After the Cougars went ahead 1-0 in the second, the senior allowed just three hits the rest of the way to help Rowan notch the road sweep.
Next up for the Profs is a matchup at TCNJ on Tuesday for two games. First pitch of game one is at 2:30 p.m.
