Austin Kreyenhagen tossed a four-hit complete game shutout to lead #5 Rowan over William Paterson, 1-0, in the first game of a doubleheader, which clinched the NJAC baseball regular-season title for the Profs. Rowan completed the sweep with an 8-6 win in 10 innings in the nightcap as
Kevin Cole hit a two-run homer.

It is Rowan's first regular-season title since 2023 and the Profs will be the top seed in the NJAC Championship that begins this week.

Rowan (29-5; 15-3) will host a semifinal game on Thursday, April 30 at 3 p.m. to open play in the championship, which is a single-elimination format. If the Profs advance, they would host the best-of-three championship series on Saturday, starting with a doubleheader at 11:30 a.m. If necessary, a third game in the series would be played Sunday at 1 p.m. The full tournament bracket will be announced at the conclusion of the regular season, with Ramapo vs. Stockton scheduled for Monday.Â

GAME 1: Rowan 1- William Paterson 0
Kreyenhagen tossed the third complete game of his career, and his second shutout, striking out three to improve to 5-1 on the year.

The Profs scored the game's only run in the fifth when
Brett Chiesa led off with a single, advanced to third after sacrifices by Bogart and Dorsey, and crossed the plate on an RBI single from
Evan McCoach. Â
Chiesa had two hits for Rowan as the Profs totaled six hits in the game.Â

GAME 2: Rowan 8 - William Paterson 6 (10 innings)
With the game tied, 6-6, after eight innings, it was extended into the 10th.
Ian Murphy led off the inning with a single and Cole came through with his second homer of the season, a two-run shot to right field to provide the winning runs.

Rowan broke a 4-4 tie in the sixth as Murphy led off with a triple and scored after Chiesa doubled. Chiesa advanced to third on a bunt single from Cole and then gave Rowan a 6-4 lead when he crossed the plate on a sacrifice fly by
Luke Bickunas.

The Pioneers scored one in the sixth and one in the eighth to send the game into extra innings.

Rowan rallied from a 4-0 deficit and started its comeback in the third, getting one run as Suriani singled in Bickunas. The Profs tied it, 4-4, in the fifth when
Brayden Davis doubled to score McCoach. and then he and Suriani scored on a William Paterson error.

Reliever
Nick Watson (3-0) earned the victory with three strong innings of work where he struck out three and allowed just one run.
Suriani went 3-for-4 and drove in a run with Cole going 2-for-3 with two RBI, while Chiesa and Murphy had two hits each.Â
