Struble Has Three Hits, and 100th of his Career, as #5 Baseball Defeats Immaculata, 14-4

GLASSBORO, NJ - Nick Struble had three hits, including the 100th of his career, to help #5 Rowan to a 14-4 win over Immaculata in a non-conference contest that ended in seven innings due to the 10-run rule. The Profs (25-4) scored at least one run in all seven innings while totaling 15 hits.
 
Struble's 100th hit came in the fifth inning when his single drove in Damon Suriani, and he finished the game with three RBI. Brayden Davis also had three RBI, with a bases-clearing double, and Ian Murphy went 3-for-3 with two runs and three RBI. Suriani finished the game with two hits and scored four runs.
 
Charlie Russell (1-0) earned the win as it was a "staff" game for both teams with Miles DeVincentis, Dane Samartino, A.J. Maddalena, Evan Brasberger and Jack Norton all seeing action for the Profs.
 
Rowan jumped out to a 3-0 lead in its first at bat on RBI singles by Struble and Murphy and an RBI double from Jason Schooley. The Profs added two in the second on two-run home by Evan McCoach, his third of the year, to bring home Mason Dorsey.
 
Immaculata (13-17) scored three runs in the third, using three hits to close to 5-3. Rowan answered with a run in the bottom half when Murphy scored on a ground out to increase the Profs' lead to 6-3.
 
Two runs crossed the plate for Rowan in the fourth, on RBI singles by Struble and Murphy. Rowan pushed its lead to 9-3 in the fifth after singles by Suriani and Struble each drove in runs.
 
in the sixth, Davis hit a bases-loaded double to score Suriani, Joey Bogart and Brett Chiesa as Rowan owned a 13-3 lead.
 
Immaculata added a run in the top of the seventh but Rowan's Kevin Cole ended the game with a sacrifice fly that scored pinchhitter Jason Bennett, who had singled.
 
The Profs return to NJAC play on Thursday with a single game at New Jersey City. First pitch is at 3:30 p.m.
