CAMDEN, NJ --
Emily McCutcheon threw her second career no-hitter in game two as #20 Softball took both ends of a NJAC Doubleheader at Rutgers-Camden on Tuesday afternoon. The Profs totaled 14 hits in a 14-0 game one victory. McCutcheon then struck out four batters with no walks to key Rowan 's 4-0 win in game two to stretch the team's win streak to eight games.
McCutcheon threw the 36th no-hitter In program history. She had her first almost two years to the day, a 10-0 win at TCNJ on April 16th, 2024.
Game one
The Profs scored in every inning, led by four players with multi-hits in the win as the game was ended after the fifth.
BethAnne Doderer (13-2) scattered two hits over four innings with a strikeout and a walk to get the win.
Mikayla Dansky (2-for-4, two runs, two RBI, stolen base),
Kate Evick (2-for-2, two runs, two walks, RBI),
Ava Fisher (2-for-3, run, RBI) and
Emma Dobkin (2-for-3, run, RBI) paced an offense that added six doubles.
Evick and Dobkin's RBI base hits in the first helped the Profs get out early. Dansky and Abigial Pawlowski each had two-run doubles as part of a five-run second.
Zara MacNair's two-run double earmarked a four spot the fourth.
Game two
McCutcheon (11-5) yielded her only baserunner in the third, one shy of the minimum batters faced, as the Scarlet Raptors' Zoie Mantzell reached on an infield error.
Rutgers-Camden's Sammie Friel allowed the four runs on seven hits as the Profs used key spots in the four separate innings which the team scored.
Evick struck again early in game two as she brought home
Zoey Rogers in the first on an RBI single.
The Scarlet Raptors made two impressive defensive stops to end both the second and third innings where the Profs had runners in scoring position in each.
The Profs made it 2-0 in the fourth when Dansky worked a bases loaded walk with two outs. In the sixth, MacNair singled home pinch runner
Maddyn Rittler while Pawlowski's sac fly in the seventh allowed
Lauren Foltz to come home for a 4-0 lead.
Evick had two of the team's seven hits in game two.
Rowan will now host Penn State-Abington on Thursday for a non-conference doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m.
