DAVENPORT, FL -
Brayden Davis scored the winning run and
Evan Brasberger earned the victory in the final three innings as #8 Rowan edged Bethel, 6-5, in 12 innings at the RussMatt Invitational.

Davis led off the 12th with a triple to right center and scored on a passed ball. Brasberger (1-0), who entered the game in the 10th, limited Bethel to one hit and no runs to preserve the win. The sophomore recorded a career-high five strikeouts.

The Profs held a 5-2 lead in the ninth inning, but Bethel got five hits and Sam Albas hit a two-run single to tie the game.

Rowan (5-1) took a 2-0 lead in the fourth when
Joey Bogart hit a two-run single. The Profs held onto that lead as
Austin Kreyenhagen kept the Royals scoreless until the sixth inning.

Davis hit a two-run home run in the eighth to boost Rowan's lead to 4-1, but Bethel added another in its half of the inning to trail, 4-2. Bogart increased Rowan's tally in the ninth, when he led off with a walk and eventually scored when Davis drew a bases-loaded walk giving the Profs a 5-2 lead.

Davis was 2-for-4 with three RBI and
Damon Suriani had two hits with Bogart posting two RBI.

Kreyenhagen went six innings and scattered three hits and was relieved by
Jack Norton and Mark Watson.

Rowan will play #7 Salve Regina on Sunday at 11:30 am (note time change) at Lake Myrtle Field in Auburndale, FL.
