UNION, NJ -- Rowan picked up a 70-40 New Jersey Athletic Conference victory at Kean Wednesday evening.
Leading by two after the first quarter, the Profs (13-8, 9-5 NJAC) used a big push in the second to take a 15-point lead at the half.
Freshman
Megan Donelson paced Rowan with 14 points while
Christina Sikaras (11 points) and
Charlotte Carlies (10 points) also went for double figures. Carlies was a rebound shy of a double-double, finishing with nine.
A 17-4 run in that second stanza helped the visitors to a 35-20 halftime lead. Later in the third,
Jess McLaughlin's three with 5:40 left put the Profs up, 44-23, where they held the sizable lead the rest of the way.
Maya Edwards had 16 points for Kean (2-16, 2-12 NJAC).
Next up for the Profs is home contest this Saturday against Ramapo as the team will host its Senior Day. Tipoff is at 1 p.m. with festivities beginning prior to the tip.
