PITMAN, NJ -- The New Jersey Athletic Conference honored
Kaitlyn Crouthamel,
Dallas Hohney,
Jamile Gantt,
David Brown,
Gabriella Pagano, and
Denirah Jones in its weekly awards for action ending January 18th.
Crouthamel was selected the NJAC Women's Swimmer of the Week after helping lead the Profs past TCNJ over the weekend. The junior captured four individual events and was a member of two winning relays. Crouthamel was first in the 200 free (2:00.39), the 500 free (5:15.96), 1000 free (10:46.15), and the 400 IM (4:38.41) respectively, as well as the 200 free relay (1:41.58/25.02 split) and 400 free relay (3:43.37/56.24 split). The Profs claimed a 219-96 victory over the Lions.
Hohney, Gantt, and Brown helped the Prof Men's Indoor Track & Field Team sweep all three awards. Hohney was named the NJAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week after setting a new Division III record in the 500 meters at the Gotham Cup on Friday. His new top time of 1:02.33 betters the previous results of 1:02.64 set last March. Gantt captured the NJAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week as he registered a top mark in Division III in the high jump with his 2.10 meter effort. Brown took home the NJAC Men's Rookie of the Week as the freshman hit 2.04 meters also in the high jump where it ranks him tied for sixth in Division III.
Pagano and Jones represented the Rowan Women's Indoor Track & Field Team as the duo turned in top performances at the Gotham Cup. Pagano was chosen the NJAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week as the senior notched a PR in the mile (4:56.71) and hit the top NJAC and #4 D3 best time. Jones was awarded the NJAC Women's Rookie of the Week after clocking in the #2 NJAC time in the 60 meters (7.88).
This week, the women's swimming team (3-3) travels to Gettysburg on Saturday. Both the men's and women's track & field teams will see action this weekend in meets at Columbia, Bucknell, and Haverford.
