GALLOWAY, NJ -- Rowan was on the wrong end of a 55-43 decision at Stockton Wednesday evening in a New Jersey Athletic Conference matchup.
The Profs led after the first (10-7) and second quarters (25-21), but a slow start to begin the third turned things around. The Ospreys outscored Rowan, 15-2, in the third as the home team held a nine-point edge heading into the final frame.
Haley Selmer led Rowan (8-7, 4-4 NJAC) with 15 points, going 9-for-10 at the free throw line, and nine rebounds.
Bre Evans scored 12 of her game-high 19 points in the second half to lead the Ospreys (8-7, 5-3 NJAC).
An early three-pointer from
Jess McLaughlin put Rowan ahead in the first where the visitors took a three-point lead after 10 minutes. Selmer scored twice and went a perfect 4-for-4 at the line to finish with eight points in the second, to help keep Rowan on top at the half.
Evans countered with nine points in the third as part of that 15-2 run to put the Ospreys ahead the rest of the way.
Rowan looks to rebound on Saturday when Rutgers-Newark visits Esby Gymnasium this Saturday starting at 1 p.m.
