Hat Trick from Moore Highlights #18 Women's Soccer in a 9-0 Victory at Rutgers-Newark

Profs surge in NJAC opener

NEWARK, NJ -- #18 Rowan kicked off its New Jersey Athletic Conference opener with a 9-0 win at Rutgers-Newark on Saturday.

Bella Moore netted a natural hat trick, Olivia Giordano scored twice, while Lianna SanFelice and Alexis Dzierzgowski each added a score and an assist as the Profs fired off 24 shots on the night to improve to 5-1 on the year. Riley Fortna kicked in a personal-best two assists as well.

It was the most goals scored in a game since an 11-1 victory over Centenary in 2022.

Elaina Corson and Riayn DiMeo added goals to help Rowan build a 5-0 lead midway through the first half.

Goalies Leah Edinger (two saves) and Catie Paolini combined for the team's fifth shutout of the season. The Rutgers-Newark duo of Alisha Perez (five saves) and Shaina Sackett (four saves) split a half in net for the home team.

Rowan will play its fourth-straight road game on Wednesday when the Profs visit New Jersey City in NJAC action in a 4 p.m. start.
