Herman's Two Goals Pace #9 Field Hockey Past Muhlenberg, 5-2

ALLENTOWN, PA - Senior co-captain Tess Herman scored her first two goals of the season as #9 Rowan came from behind to post a 5-2 win at Muhlenberg in field hockey action today. The win snaps a two-game losing streak for the Profs and improves them to 3-2.

Herman started things off for the Profs, with her first goal of the year just five minutes into the game, with assist from Aurelia McManis. It marked the second two-goal game of her career, but the first since her freshman season.

Muhlenberg (2-3) scored back-to-back goals in the second quarter to take a 2-1 lead  which was short-lived as just four minutes later, Sydney Kowalczyk netted her team-high fourth goal of the year to tie the score at 2-2. Lily Bataloni was credited with the assist.

From there, the Profs rolled, scoring three goals in the third quarter. Peyton Ryan notched the eventual gamewinner at 31:05 for her first career goal, with Paige Gray picking up the assist. Rowan went up 4-2 on Jenna Gray's first goal of the year, with Kowalczyk setting up the goal at 34:10.

Herman closed out the scoring five minutes later with an unassisted goal to put away the win.

Mariah Juiliano made two saves in goal for Rowan, which held a 15-4 advantage in shots and 11-3 margin in corners.

The Profs are on the road for two more games, with a date at Catholic on Wednesday, September 17 at 6 p.m.
