Olivia Giordano broke a tie in the 85th minute to lead #17 Rowan over #14 Swarthmore, 2-1, in Top 25 women's soccer action this evening, in the Profs' home opener. Rowan improves to 4-0 on the season.

With the game tied, 1-1, for over 70 minutes, Giordano took a pass from
Sara Wiedeman to net the gamewinner at 84:48. It was the senior's  third goal of the year and the15th game-winning goal of her career.

Ava Morales got the Profs on the board just over two minutes into the match as she headed in a ball off a corner from
Lianna SanFelice. Swarthmore (3-1-1) tied it in the eighth minute as the Garnet scored the first goal allowed by Rowan this season.

The teams battled through a scoreless match the rest of the way until Giordano's gamewinner.

Rowan held a slim 5-4 margin in shots on goal while Swarthmore had an 11-8 advantage in shots.

Freshman
Leah Edinger made three saves in goal to earn the win for Rowan.

The Profs head to Boston this weekend to take on Babson at noon. on Saturday, September 13.
