GLASSBORO, NJ - Stevens ran up a three-goal lead in the first quarter and #9 Rowan couldn't recover as the #25 Ducks scored a 5-1 win in a Top 25 field hockey matchup at Coach Wackar Stadium.
Sydney Kowalczyk had the only goal for the Profs (3-2).

The Ducks (4-0) scored three straight to own a 3-0 lead that they would hold until the fourth quarter.

Kowalcyzk ended the shutout early in the fourth quarter, with the play originating on a corner.
Mia Foti took a shot that was stopped by goalie Lily Wierzbicki, but Kowalczyk collected the rebound and put it in for her team-high third goal of the year to cut the deficit to 3-1.

But Stevens answered just 19 seconds later at 54:51 to stretch the lead to 4-1, and then tallied the final goal with under four minutes remaining.

Rowan was awarded a penalty stroke prior to Kowalczyk's goal, but Wierzbicki was able to make the save on
Alexa Ronning.

The Profs go on the road for three consecutive games starting with Saturday at Muhlenberg, in a 1 p.m. Rowan's next home game is September 24 against Washington College.
