Anna Sasse, and
Ally Wernik have been selected to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) 2025 Women's Track & Field Academic All-District Team.
Eligible nominees are be based off of TFRRS performance list rankings at the time of nomination. Nominees must have a top 50 regional time/result in a single event (indoor or outdoor) that originates from an individual performance, not a relay. Academically, undergraduate student-athletes must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and graduate student-athletes must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as both an undergraduate and a grad student unless they are in their first semester as a graduate student and don't have an established graduate GPA to be eligible in the nomination process.
For Deal and Lodge, this is the third occurrence the duo have been honored while Sasse scores her second. Hanson and Wernik claim the academic honor for the first time. Deal's first award came in 2023 while at Ursinus.
Deal, a graduate student majoring in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, capped her track & field career this outdoor season with two All-America honors in the shot put (First Team), and javelin (Second Team) while being named the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Association (USTFCCCA) Metro Region Field Athlete of the Year and the NJAC Outstanding Field Athlete of the Year.
Hanson is an Early Childhood Education major that produced two personal bests in the 5000 meters and 10,000 meters during the outdoor season.
Lodge, who is a Computer Science major, was named the 2024-25 Outstanding Track Athlete at the NJAC Indoor Championships where she won the 200 meters and was part of the winning 4x100 and 4x400 relays while scoring an honorable mention in the 60 meters. The outdoor season saw her secure an All-America Second Team nod in the 400 meter hurdles. Additionally, she repeated as the 200 meter champion and was part of the 4x400 relay at the NJAC Outdoor Championships. Lodge also scored regional honors by the USTFCCCA and was named the Philly-SIDA Women's Track & Field Academic All-Area Performer of the Year.
Sasse, Mechanical Engineering major, scored All-NJAC honors during the indoor season (mile) and the outdoor season (3000 meter steeplechase and 1500 meters), earning USTFCCA Regional honors in those events as well.
Wernik a Psychology major, set three personal records during the indoor season (Mile, 1000 meters, and 3000 meters) and was the runner-up at the NJAC Cross Country Championships. Wernik, Hanson, and Sasse were also members of the Prof Cross Country team that won the NJAC Championship and also an NCAA Regional Championship, its first in program history.
