Payton MacNair and
Liz McCaffery earned honors from the College Sports Communicators (CSC) on its 2025 Academic All-America® Division III Softball Teams.
MacNair was named to the second team while McCaffery notched a spot on the third team. The duo becomes the 6th and 7th student-athletes in program history respectively to be honored with the prestigious award. Former Profs Nicolina Veneziano (2011, 2012), Shilah (Snead) Minerva (2015, 2016), Korie Hague (2021, 2022), and Morgan Zane (2022) are the other five recipients.

On the field, the pair were voted NFCA All-Americans, NFCA All-Region honorees and to the NJAC All-Conference team as the Profs captured the NJAC Title as well as NCAA Regional and Super Regional titles on its way to the Division III Championship Tournament for the third year in a row. Rowan finished the 2025 season at 49-4, setting a program record for wins and win percentage, including a 31-game winning streak to start the season, which was also a team milestone. The win streak was also the longest in all three divisions of NCAA Softball this year.
Off the field, MacNair and McCaffery were chosen to the CSC Academic All-District squad and the Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area Team with McCaffery voted the performer of the year. The pair share Chi Alpha Sigma (National Student-Athlete Honor Society) honors, spots on the Rowan Scholar-Athlete list, and to the NJAC All-Academic Team.
MacNair was second on the team in batting average (.422) and OPS (1.044) while adding 49 runs, 41 RBI's, 17 doubles. Defensively, the Health and Physical Education major had zero errors in 194 chances at shortstop (75 putouts/119 assists) and helped turn 11 of the team's 23 double plays helping the Profs to a Division III-best .983 fielding percentage. The fifth year leaves the program as the all-time leader in games played (231), at-bats (764), hits (283), and doubles (71).
McCaffery, paced the Profs in nearly every offensive category this season including runs (66), hits (76), triples (6), home runs (5), and stolen bases (27) while also posting a team-best .425 batting average. In Division III, the second baseman ranks third in runs, and fourth in hits. Her 118 total bases puts her in 14th nationally as well. A Sports Communications and Media major, McCaffery was also named to the Division III Championship All-Tournament Team.
