GALLOWAY, NJ -
Tyler Cannon went 4-for-6 at the plate to lead #20 Rowan to a 9-1 win at Stockton in NJAC baseball action, in a game that was rescheduled from last Friday. The Profs are now 17-7 overall while evening their conference record to 3-3.
Cannon tied his career-high for hits in a game while scoring two runs and driving in one.
Jason Morgan and
Karson Harcourt had two hits and two RBI apiece for Rowan.
Thomas Sullivan (3-1) allowed just one run and one hit in five innings, striking out three.
Austin Kreyenhagen,
Lucas Hampel and
Evan Brasberger came out of the bullpen and kept Stockton (11-15; 1-5) scoreless from that point on.
Rowan broke a 1-1 tie with seven runs in the fifth inning.
Jason Morgan hit a two-run single that scored Cannon and Sedalis, who had each singled. A walk to
Nick Struble loaded the bases and
Joey Bogart drew one to bring home Morgan.
Mason Dorsey drove in one on a fielder's choice and then
Karson Harcourt stroked a two-run double that allowed Dorsey and Bogart to score. The Profs batted around and Cannon closed out the scoring with a base hit that scored Harcourt, giving Rowan an 8-1 lead.
The Profs tacked on one more in the sixth as
Marco Mannino led off, moved to second on a ground out and eventually scored on consecutive wild pitches.
Cannon led off the game with a single and eventually advanced, scoring the game's first run on
Brayden Davis' sacrifice fly. The home team tied it in the bottom of the third, but Rowan's offensive outburst in the fifth was the decisive inning.
Next up for Rowan is a visit to Rutgers-Camden on Thursday for a single game at 3:30 p.m. with the return game scheduled for Glassboro on Friday, also at 3:30 p.m. The Profs head to Ramapo on Saturday for a doubleheader.
