Herlihy Named to Philly Academic All-Area Women's Basketball Team

PHILADELPHIA – Rowan's Kate Herlihy has been named to the 2024-25 Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area Women's Basketball Team, which is selected by the athletics communications offices from the 30 institutions in the Philadelphia area. The Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area program is now in its 20th season.
 
Herlihy, a wellness management major, closed out her Rowan career with her first season. She earned WBCA All-America Honorable Mention this season, becoming the first in the program to received All-America honors since 2016.
 
The senior guard was a two-time All-NJAC selection, picking up first-team honors this season as she led the conference in scoring with 18.6 ppg. Herlihy led Rowan in three-pointers made (58), assists (62) and steals (53). Herlihy posted 10 games with 20 more points this season and had two game with 30  points or more.
 
She became the 20th player in the program's history reach the 1,000-point milestone, finishing her career with 1,113 points to rank 10th on Rowan's all-time scoring list.
 
In order to be selected for the Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area Women's Basketball Team, a student-athlete must be a sophomore academically, a starter or significant reserve on their institution's women's basketball team, and have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30 or higher.
