HAMPTON, VA -- The 2025 New Jersey Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championships kicked off on Thursday where two school records fell and a new #1 Division III top time went down.
The women's 800 free relay of
Kaitlyn Crouthamel,
Trisha Lau,
Lilyanna Martin, and
Ella Pennington set a new school record with a time of 7:39.72, breaking the three-year old result of 7:45.54. The foursome ended second, just 0.58 seconds behind Salisbury.
The men's 800 free relay made up of
Jack Watson,
Braden Sheehan,
Alex Volin, and
Tobias Cahnbley broke the program record and set a top time in Division III in winning the event in 6:33.74, surpassing the previous time of 6:39.97. Ironically, Watson, Volin, and Cahnbley were on that relay squad set in February 2023.
The men sit in first place after the first day with 64 points, eight ahead of TCNJ in second. The women stand in fifth with 56 points, eight behind fourth-place Salisbury. The meet is taking place at the Hampton Aquaplex in Hampton, Virginia.
Day 2 begins tomorrow with the first session beginning at 9:30 a.m. and the second at 5:30 p.m.
