Taz Cantey scored 18 points and
Khalil Baker added 16 points and a career-high 14 rebounds to lead Rowan to a 67-56 win over Kean in NJAC men's basketball, as the Profs record their first victory of the season.

Cantey added eight rebounds and a career-high five steals while Baker recorded his second double-double this season with the Profs.
Brycen Williams added 15 points and
Michael Pirone scored 10.

Rowan (1-8; 1-3) led the entire second half, with the winning margin being its biggest lead of the contest.

Cantey had seven points in a key 9-0 second-half run that, putting the Profs up by 10, 54-44, with 5:19 remaining. Kean (5-3; 3-1) closed to 56-50 with three minutes to play, but a jumper by Cantey gave Rowan a 58-50 cushion with 2:39 remaining. Profs extended their lead to 62-51 after back-to-back layups by Pirone and
Chris McCarron.

After hitting just 28.6 percent of its shots in the first half, the Profs came out in the second and hit 13-of-23 (56.8 percent) in the second.

The Profs led for the majority of the first half and held a decisive 27-19 advantage in rebounding, led by 12 from Baker. The Profs' biggest lead was 26-21, with 3:10 remaining, and the home team had a 32-28 halftime edge.

Rowan had a season-high 14 steals in the game to force Kean into 19 turnovers, including 11 in the first half alone.

Rowan plays its final game before the holidays on Saturday when it travels to William Paterson for the second game of an NJAC doubleheader, beginning at 3 p.m.
