GLASSBORO, NJ – Rowan was picked fourth in the 2025-26 NJAC Men's Basketball Preseason Coaches Poll, and received two first-place votes.
The Profs return 10 players from last year's squad, which went 9-9 in the conference and reached the NJAC quarterfinals. Rowan is led by senior guards
Brycen Williams (14.5 ppg) and
Taz Cantey (12.3 ppg). Williams was the Profs' leading three-pointer last season, hitting 75 field goals at 43.6 percent, while he converted a team-high 81.9 percent from the foul line. Cantey is Rowan's returning leader in assists as he handed out 2.9 per game while shooting 49.5 percent from the field.
Classmates and fellow team co-captains
Chris McCarron and
Skip Burton are also back to provide experience. McCarron made a personal best eight starts last season and made 21 threes on the season. Burton saw action in 14 games in his first year with the Profs and was a 70-percent shooter from the foul line.
Rowan has a unique tune-up for the season on Friday when the Profs visit Penn at The Palestra in an exhibition game at 7 p.m. The game will count as a regular-season contest for Penn.
The Profs officially open the year on Sunday, November 9 at Wilkes and then have two more games on the road before hosting Johns Hopkins in the home opener on November 18th.
Montclair State was chosen as the conference favorite, followed by TCNJ and Stockton. Following the Profs in fifth place was Kean, with Ramapo, NJCU, Rutgers-Camden, Rutgers-Newark and William Paterson rounding out the league's predictions.
