BALTIMORE, MD - Second-ranked Johns Hopkins scored a pair of goals in the second quarter en route to a 3-0 win over #10 Rowan (1-2) in non-conference field hockey action this afternoon.

The Blue Jays (4-0) scored the first goal of the game at 22:29 when Lila Slattery scored and then just one minute later, at 23:38, Emily Amsden tallied the second to give JHU a 2-0 lead.

Johns Hopkins added an insurance goal early in the third quarter. Rowan was on the attack for the rest of the quarter as it had five penalty corners, but could not convert.

The Profs outshot the Blue Jays, 11-9, and goalie Mariah Juiliano made four saves on the afternoon.

Rowan continues its season-opening stretch of five consecutive home games when it visits Stevens on Wednesday, September 11 and goes to Arcadia on September 14. The Profs will play their first home game of the year on September 18 against Catholic.
