GLASSBORO, NJ - A pair of first-half goals helped #16 Bryn Mawr defeat #25 Rowan, 2-1, in field hockey action this evening.
Lily Bataloni scored for the Profs as their second-half comeback fell short.
After taking just three shots in the first half, Rowan's offense came to life in the second half and the Profs outshot the Owls, 7-0. Rowan (4-4) also held a 7-1 advantage in corners during the game.
Bataloni, a sophomore transfer, got the Profs on the board at 38:41 after
Alexa Ronning took a shot that hit the post, and she followed it in the cage. It was Bataloni's second goal of the season.
Bryn Mawr (6-1) jumped out quickly with a goal by Reba Ervin at 7:12 and one from Novy Goetgeluk at 18:25 to own a 2-0 halftime lead.
Mariah Juiliano made two saves for Rowan, which closes out its five-game homestand on Saturday against #17 Shenandoah.
