NEWPORT NEWS, VA -  The game's lone goal with less than eight minutes to play pushed #13 Christopher Newport past #9 Rowan, 1-0, as the Profs closed out their Virginia trip with back-to-back games against ranked teams.

Manzi Silibo scored the gamewinner at 81:22 when he blasted a shot from 25 yards out that slipped inside the right post.

The goal ruined another top-notch effort from Rowan (2-3-3) as it has faced ranked teams in five of the last six games, including #1 Mary Washington on Friday.

CNU (5-0-3) had the edge in shots, 16-9, but Rowan's Dylan Aportela made three saves to keep the home team off the board until the final minutes.

Rowan is back at home on Wednesday when it hosts Messiah, which received votes in last week's rankings. Game time is 5 p.m.
