Women's Lacrosse Returns to NJAC Championship Game with 13-8 Win over Stockton

Profs will head to TCNJ on Saturday making their third straight trip to the title game

GLASSBORO, NJ – Rowan scored five goals in the third quarter to break open the game as the Profs defeated Stockton, 13-8, in the Semifinals of the 2024 NJAC Women's Lacrosse Championship. Rowan advances to the NJAC title game for the third year in a row, and will play at top-seeded TCNJ on Saturday, May 4, at 1 p.m.  The NJAC champion will earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship.

Elaina Corson scored five goals on the day with Calista Burke adding three goals and a career-high four assists. Molly Green and Fiona Lockhart had two goals each with Alexis Lowry adding one.
 
Mel Rodgers made eight saves on the day for second-seeded Rowan (8-10) as the Profs outshot the third-seeded Ospreys, 26-23.
 
The teams were tied, 5-5, early in the third quarter as Stockton (14-3) opened the second half with a pair of goals. Burke responded with a goal at 8:20 and then Corson added her 55th goal of the year at 4:53 to give the Profs a 7-5 lead. Rowan added three more with tallies from Green, Lockhart and Corson, with Burke assisting on the final two to own a 10-5 lead.
 
Stockton broke the streak with a goal to start the fourth quarter, but Corson and Burke teamed up again to help Rowan maintain its five-goal lead, 11-6. Each team would score two more times, as Green netted one at 9:49 and Corson closed out the scoring with 4:25 left off a pass from Green.
 
The low-scoring first half started with Rowan holding a 2-1 lead after the first 15 minutes, with goals from Corson and Burke. The Profs then outscored the Ospreys, 3-2, in the second quarter with goals from Burke, Lowry and Lockhart to own the 5-3 halftime lead.
 
Tickets for the NJAC Championship game are available at the game - $10 for adults; $5 for students, senior citizens and children. No passes will be accepted.
