BALTIMORE, MD – Fifteenth-ranked Johns Hopkins scored three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to pull ahead and record a 12-8 win over #6 Rowan in non-league baseball action today. The Top 25 matchup featured four ties and three lead changes as the Profs' saw their four-game winning streak come to an end.

Rowan (12-3) trailed 8-6 heading into the eighth inning but the Profs got a single from Marco Mannino and he scored on a double by Tyler Cannon. Dylan Maria followed with a double to bring home Cannon and tie the game at 8-8.

Johns Hopkins (12-6), which hit five home runs in the game, got the winning runs in the bottom of the inning as it put together three hits and took advantage of one Rowan error. The Blue Jays' big hit came by way of a two-run homer from Shawn Steuerer to give JHU a 12-8 lead, which would hold up for the win.

Rowan scored first in the second inning with a double from Luke Bickunas bringing home Pat Defeciani. JHU went ahead 3-1 after a pair of home runs in the bottom of that inning.

Cannon drove one to left center in the third for a solo homer, starting a four-run inning for the Profs. Maria had an RBI double and Jason Morgan and Nick Struble each contributed run-scoring sacrifice flies as Rowan took a 5-3 lead.

JHU went up, 6-5, after four innings but Struble drove in Morgan with a double in the fifth inning to help Rowan tie the game at 6-6.

The Blue Jays went ahead again, with runs in both the sixth and seventh innings, including the second homer of the game by Alex Shane, to own an 8-6 lead. Cannon and Maria helped the Profs knot the score by driving in runs in the top of the eighth.

Phil Sedalis, Cannon, Maria and Struble had two hits each for Rowan, with each adding one double. Thomas Sullivan made the start but was relieved by five Profs' pitches with Charlie Russell (1-2) taking the loss.
