Wright, Ross Score 18 Apiece as Men's Basketball Rolls to 96-60 Win over Kean on Senior Day

Profs take over sole possession in the NJAC with the victory

GLASSBORO, NJ – Josh Wright and Marcellus Ross scored 18 points each to lead a balanced effort as Rowan defeated Kean, 96-60, in an NJAC matchup, on "Senior Day" in Esby Gym. It marks Rowan's fifth straight win as the Profs (17-5 overall) now own sole possession of first place in the conference with an 11-4 record.

Game Highlights
 
Wright shot 6-for-9 from the floor and was a perfect 3-for-3 from beyond the arc with Ross hitting 5-of-10 shots and grabbing six rebounds. Booty Butler scored 11 points as he made 4-of-7 shots and all 12 Profs who played got into the scoring column.
 
Prior to the game, Rowan honored seniors Booty Butler, Ryan Ems, Tim Myarick, Ryan O'Melia, Ja'Zere Noel, Mikey Robinson and Marcellus Ross, along with team managers Brian Bruccoliere and Shani Miller.
 
Rowan took control of the game in the first half. Kean (10-12; 7-8 NJAC) held a 10-9 lead but the Profs put together a 15-3 run, led by six points from Noel, to build up a double-digit margin, 24-13. Four straight points by Wright upped it to 29-15 and then baskets from Ross and Butler gave the Profs their biggest lead of the half, 33-19, with 5:04 left. Rowan would hold a 40-29 lead at halftime.
 
The Profs kept rolling in the second half as Noel scored the team's first seven points to give Rowan a 48-34 lead and eventually built it up to a 20-point margin, 59-39, with 12:51 remaining.
 
An 11-0 run with three-pointers by Chris McCarron and Josh Wright, extended Rowan's lead to 72-45 at 7:34 and then the Profs' margin increased to 30, 77-47, after a layup by Ryan O'Melia.
 
After making just one three-pointer in the first half, Rowan heated up in the second and converted 8-for-12.
 
Rowan will host its final home game of the regular season on Wednesday when the Profs take on NJCU at 7 p.m.
