STATEN ISLAND, NY -- The Rowan Women's Indoor Track & Field Team placed second at the 2024 New Jersey Athletic Conference Championship Monday afternoon at the Ocean Breeze Complex turning in a school record and a bevy of personal best performances.

The Profs amassed 138 points, 33 ahead of third-place Stockton. TCNJ was the team champion, totaling 198 points.
The 4x200 relay of
Kat Pedersen,
Nevaeh Lorjuste,
Molly Lodge, and
Jasmine Pope of set a school record with a new time of 1:41.61 in finishing first. This is the second year in a row that the time was bettered at the conference championship meet.
Izzy Deal won the shot (13.42 meters) and was second in the weight throw with a PR mark of 15.24 meters.
Gloria Hughes took third in the 60 meter hurdles in a season-best time of 9.42.
Lodge hit a PR in the 60 meters finals (7.79) where she placed second. Lorjuste claimed an indoor PR in the 400 meters (56.82) placing second while Lodge was third in the event (58.06) with Pedersen in fifth (58.45), and
Jasmine Pope (59.06) in sixth respectively.
Pope was the runner-up in the 200 meters (25.51) with
Amanthy Sosa Caceres notching a PR of her own, coming in fifth the long jump (5.05 meters).
Next up for the Profs is a last chance meet back here at Ocean Breeze this Friday. The following weekend, the team will participate in the AARTFC Regional Championships in Rochester, NY. Selections to the 2024 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championship will take place on March 3rd.
