Palumbo, Pavlishin Score Two Goals Each as Field Hockey Defeats WIlliam Paterson, 9-0, for Fifth Straight Win

GLASSBORO, NJ - Allie Palumbo and Sidney Pavlishin scored two goals apiece as Rowan defeated William Paterson, 9-0, in an NJAC field hockey matchup, as the Profs extended their winning streak to five games, improving to 9-7 (4-0 NJAC) on the season.

Game Highlights

Ella Toll added two assists while Jenna Gray and Paige Gray each had a goal and an assist. Mariah Juiliano and Delfina Vanelli split time in the cage for Rowan in the shutout with Vanelli making one save.

Three different scorers helped Rowan take a 3-0 lead in the first quarter. Allie Palumbo scored the first goal 1:18 into the game and Jenna Gray entered the scoring column two minutes later with an unassisted goal. Sidney Pavlishin added Rowan's third goal at 7:02 when she took a pass from Ella Toll.

The Profs added four goals in the second quarter, with Palumbo again scoring the first, assisted by Alexa Ronning. Jenna Gray set up the second as she had the ball at the right side of the cage, and backhanded it to the left post for Mia Foti to tip in. Paige Gray scored at 20:36 assisted by Toll, and Pavlishin notched her second of the game after one-touch passes from Paige Gray and Gracie Merrick to take a 7-0 lead at halftime.

Freshman Victoria Tullio scored the first goal of her career to open the second half as Mabel Acuna-Casey recorded the assist, for her first career point.

Lily Bataloni closed out the scoring in the fourth quarter with a blast from just inside the circle at 58:19.

Rowan outshot William Paterson, 20-1, and goalkeeper Sofia Cheebookjian made 11 saves for the Pioneers (2-11; 0-4).

The Profs have a tough test ahead of them on Friday afternoon when they host #2 Salisbury at 4 p.m.
