GLASSBORO, NJ –
Kylie Elwell and
Alexa Ronning scored goals in a little more than a minute as Rowan rallied for a 2-1 win over rival TCNJ in a New Jersey Athletic Conference field hockey matchup this evening. The Profs even their record to 7-7 and improve to 2-0 in the league.

With Rowan trailing 1-0 entering the fourth quarter,
Jenna Gray took a backhanded shot from the center of the circle that Elwell deflected for the tying goal at 56:02.
Just over a minute later, TCNJ (8-5; 2-1) was whistled for a foul in the circle on
Tess Herman and the Profs were awarded a penalty stroke. Junior
Alexa Ronning put it into the right side of the cage for the gamewinner at 57:44. It was her second successful penalty stroke conversion in two attempts this season.
The teams battled through 37 minutes of scoreless play before TCNJ got on the board first. The Lions sent a long pass into the circle that Rayhanah Ahmed caught up to and got her stick on it, and Mariah Juliano sprawled out to make the initial save. But the ball popped out and Julia Neff was there to put it into the empty cage at 38:15 for the 1-0 lead.
Juliano made four saves for the Profs as TCNJ held an 8-5 edge in shots, while the teams each took six corners.
Rowan goes on the road on Saturday for another key conference clash with Kean at 1 p.m.
