Noel, Fleming and McCarron Pace Men's Basketball Over Ramapo, 87-76

Game Highlights

GLASSBORO, NJ  - Ja'Zere Noel scored 25 points and Danny Fleming tallied 19 in his Rowan debut as the Profs defeated Ramapo, 87-76, in an NJAC men's basketball matchup. Chris McCarron scored a career-high 15 points as Rowan won its third straight, improving 15-5 overall and remaining in a first-place tie in the conference with a 9-5 mark.  
 
Noel converted 10-of-16 field goals and handed out five assists in the win. Fleming, a junior transfer from Holy Family, shot 9-for-14 from the field in his first game as a Prof, while adding six rebounds, two blocks and two steals. McCarron took all of his shots from behind the arc, making a career-best 5-of-7 three-pointers, while Marcellus Ross rounded out the double-figure scorers with 10 points.
 
Ramapo (13-7; 7-6) came within 68-62 at 10:14 of the second half, but Rowan increased its lead to 76-65 on a three-pointer by Noel. Six straight points by the Profs, ending a three-pointer from McCarron, pushed it to 85-69 with 5:04 remaining, for Rowan's biggest lead of the game and secured the win.
 
With the game tied at 12-12 in the early going, Rowan outscored the visitors, 12-5, with seven points from Fleming, to take a 24-17 advantage after a three by Ross at 10:54. Leading 27-21, Rowan expanded its advantage to 41-23 with a 14-4 spurt that ended in a dunk by Noel at 5:42. The Profs shot a blistering 20-for-33 (60.6 percent) from the field, while making six three-pointers as they held a 49-36 halftime lead.
 
The Profs connected on 12-of-27 three-point attempts in the win, and held Ramapo to 3-for-17 shooting (17.6 percent) from beyond the arc.
 
Rowan visits Rutgers-Camden on Wednesday, January 31st, and then hosts its final two home games of the regular season on February 3rd vs. Kean and NJCU on February 7th. The Profs will close out the regular season with a pair of road games at Rutgers-Newark and Montclair State (Feb. 14).
