GRANTHAM, PA – Fourth-ranked Messiah scored all three goals in the second half as the Falcons defeated #12 Rowan, 3-0, in field hockey action this afternoon. The loss drops the Profs to 5-4 on the year.

Erin Flynn posting five saves in the half, as she made her first start as a Prof.
Nicole Shank opened for Messiah (7-1) when she converted a penalty stroke that was awarded to the Falcons at 38:09. Ellie Lefever scored Messiah's second just one minute later to give the home team a 2-0 lead and increased it to 3-0 with her second goal at 43:46.
Flynn ended up recording a career-high six saves as Messiah held a 9-5 advantage in shots on goal, and a slim 8-6 edge in penalty corners.
The Profs will open defense of their NJAC crown, and play their fourth straight road game, on Saturday when they visit #24 TCNJ on Saturday, September 30 in the conference opener. Game time is 1 p.m.
