RADNOR, PA –
Vanessa DiDonato and
Madison DuBois had two goals apiece to lead #10 Rowan to a 4-3 win at Cabrini on a rainy and windswept afternoon in the final meeting of the two schools. The victory improves the Profs to 5-3 on the season as they rebounded from a loss earlier this week.
DiDonato also added an assist with
Sidney Pavlishin handing out two as the Profs used three straight goals to overcome an early deficit for the win.
Cabrini (4-4) jumped out from the start as Caroline Gallagher scored just six minutes into the game giving the Cavaliers a 1-0 lead that they held until the second quarter.
DiDonato scored her first on an unassisted goal at 30:58 to tie the score but Cabrini answered back just two minutes later as Gallagher tallied her second at 32:48.
DuBois netted her first goal of the season when she took a pass from Pavlishin at 37:44 to tie the score again. The junior then scored again, just two minutes later, with the assist from DiDonato to put the Profs ahead for good, 3-2, while notching the first multiple-goal game of her career.
DiDonato finished off the scoring and provided the eventual gamewinner at 46:35, as Pavlishin again picked up the assist to give Rowan a 4-2 lead. It marked her team-high ninth goal of the year while extending her streak of multiple-goal games to three.
Gallagher completed a hat trick at 50:34 to pull Cabrini within, 4-3, but the Profs were able to hold on for the win.
Rowan outshot Cabrini, 19-8, and the Profs' goalie
Aida Ingram made one save on the day.
The Profs are on the road again this week, heading to Messiah on Wednesday and then opening the NJAC season and defense of their conference title against TCNJ on Saturday, September 30.
