GLASSBORO, NJ -- Emma DeMaise and Mackenzie Clement each had a goal and an assist and goalie Calista Burke posted a clean sheet to help lift Rowan to a 3-0 season-opening win over Muhlenberg at home Saturday evening.

Gabby Dean also tallied for the Profs, who netted all three goals in the first 20 minutes of the first half.

Burke recorded two saves for her 15th career shutout as Rowan limited the Mules to two shots on the night.

Clement put the home team on the scoreboard in the fourth minute as DeMaise sent a free kick into the box. After a quick capture, Clement turned and fired just over the hands Muhlenberg keeper Sara Pecorelli. Just under nine minutes later, Clement fed a streaking Dean into the box where a one-touch shot found the back of the net for a 2-0 lead.

In the 20th minute, Sarah Bergan's corner kick went right to the foot of DeMaise for an easy tap in to give the Profs a 3-0 lead.

It was more than enough for the Burke and the defense, who saw Rowan tally up 29 shots (10 on goal).

Pecorelli finished the evening with seven stops for Muhlenberg (1-1).

The Profs hit the road when the team visits Manhattanville on Tuesday with a 4 p.m. start.
