Class will be inducted on October 15th as part of Homecoming Weekend

GLASSBORO, NJ – The Shirley O'Day-Joy Solomen Rowan University/Glassboro State College Athletics Hall of Fame will induct its newest members this Fall, with the Class of 2023 being comprised of Prof standouts Takiyah Bowen (women's basketball), Maurice Davis (men's basketball), Debbie Filipek (women's basketball), Ed Hesson (football), and LeRoi Jones (football), and Rowan's 1993 Football Team.
 
The ceremony will take place with a brunch in as part of Homecoming Weekend on Sunday, October 15 at 11 a.m. in the Eynon Ballroom of the Chamberlain Student Center. Tickets are $75 per person and can be purchased using the following link. TICKETS
 
CLASS OF 2023
Takiyah Bowen – Women's Basketball (1994-98)
Bowen, who earned WBCA All-America Honorable Mention in 1997-98, ranks fifth on Rowan's all-time list for scoring with 1,290 career points and has the third highest total of rebounds with 896. She helped the Profs reach the NCAA Final Four in 1998 and the Elite 8 in 1996, while winning three NJAC titles.
 
Maurice Davis – Men's Basketball (1998-00)
Davis earned NABC All-America honors in each of his two seasons at Rowan, including selection to the First Team in 1999. An All-Conference First Team honoree both years, he helped the Profs to two NCAA Tournament appearances and the NJAC Championship in 1999, while totaling over 900 points in two seasons.

Debbie Filipek – Women's Basketball (1990-94)
Filipek received All-America Honorable Mention by the WBCA in her senior season and was a two-time All-Conference First Team selection while helping Rowan to the NJAC titles in 1992 and 1994. She scored 1,377 career points and is the program's third all-time leading scorer, while she totaled 765 rebounds to rank seventh in Rowan history.
 
Ed Hesson – Football (1990-93)
Hesson was a four-time All-NJAC selection at quarterback, with two years on the first team, and being named the league's Offensive Player of the Year for those seasons, 1992 and 1993. He was chosen the NJAC's Offensive Rookie of the Year in 1990 and holds the Rowan record for touchdown passes as a freshman with 13 that season.
 
LeRoi Jones – Football (1993-95)
Jones was named to the 1995 AFCA All-America Team in addition to being named the NJAC Defensive Player of the Year. The linebacker was chosen to the All-Conference team all three seasons, while earning first-team honors in 1993 and 1995.
 
1993 Football Team
The 1993 Profs were the first of five Rowan teams to play in the Stagg Bowl, the NCAA Division III Football Championship. Guided by first-year head coach K.C. Keeler, the Profs went 11-2 and won the NJAC title with a 5-0 record.
