PITMAN, NJ – Rowan's
Calista Burke (women's soccer) and
Justin Kelly (men's cross country) were named to the 2022-23 NJAC All-Academic First Team and
Jamie Cutrera (women's lacrosse) and
Rocco Evangelista (men's swimming) were selected to the All-Academic Second Team. These Profs head the group of 181 additional Rowan student-athletes who received All-Academic Honorable Mention from the conference.
Burke, a sophomore finance major, earned United Soccer Coaches All-American honors this year and was named the NJAC's Goalkeeper of the Year. She ranked fourth in the nation with 13 shutouts and sixth in the nation in goals against average (0.269) as she helped Rowan to the NJAC Championship.
She was also named to the 2022 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America Women's Soccer Third Team and was honored with selection to the Philadelphia Academic All-Area Team.
Kelly, who graduated with his degree in exercise science, was the NJAC's individual cross country champion in 2022, as he helped the Profs to the team title. The senior was chosen as the NJAC Runner of the Year and placed 22nd at the NCAA Metro Region Championships.
He was honored with selection to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team and the Philadelphia Academic All-Area Team, while also being inducted into the Chi Alpha Sigma National Student-Athlete Honor Society this year.
Cutrera, who graduated with her degree in inclusive elementary education, was also selected to the CSC Academic All-District Women's At-Large Team. The attack player was Rowan's leading scorer with career-highs in points (74), goals (57) and assists (17) and for the first time in her career, earned selections to the NJAC All-Conference First Team and the IWLCA All-Region First Team.
She was chosen to the 2022-23 Philadelphia Academic All-Area Women's Lacrosse Team and is a two-time recipient of NJAC All-Academic Honorable Mention.
Evangelista recorded personal bests in six different events this season for the Profs. He graduated with a degree in finance and received the Sorrelle Scholar-Athlete Medallion, which is given to the top student-athlete in Rowan's College of Business.
Evangelista was named to the CSC Academic All-District Men's Swimming & Diving Team this year and is a three-time Rowan Scholar-Athlete of Distinction.
