#18 Baseball Can't Hold Off Rutgers-Camden Rally, Falling 8-7 in 10 Innings

CAMDEN, NJ – Rutgers-Camden scored in the bottom of the 10th to cap off a come-from-behind win over #18 Rowan, 8-7, in NJAC baseball action today. Augie Uzdanovics hit a sacrifice fly in for the walk-off win, scoring Giacomo Antoicello, as the teams split the season series.

Rowan (22-10; 8-4 NJAC)  led 7-3 heading into the fifth, but the Scarlet Raptors scored four runs over the final four innings, tying the game with two runs in the bottom of the ninth after a bases-loaded two-run single by Frankie Romond.

The Profs opened the game with a quick 2-0 lead after Phil Sedalis and Dylan Maria each hit RBI singles, scoring Tyler Cannon and Sedalis, respectively.

Rutgers-Camden (20-13; 6-6) scored one in the first and then one each in the third and fourth to take a 3-2 lead.

A triple by Anthony Schooley in the fifth tied the game and then Rowan took the lead, 4-3, and the Profs would score five runs. Maria reached on an error to score Schooley and Jason Morgan singled to bring home Ryan Murphy, who was intentionally walked. Brian Gallante had the big hit of the inning with a two-run single as Rowan held a 7-3 lead.

The lead was not secure as Rutgers-Camden scored one in the sixth and one in the eighth to head into the ninth trailing, 7-5.

Sedalis went 3-for-5 with two runs and Schooley was 2-for-5 as the Profs totaled 10 hits.

Matt Choi made the start and went four innings, allowing three runs. Mike Shannon relieved him and Christian Bascunan (1-2) entered in the ninth and was saddled with the loss.

The Profs will host Rutgers-Newark on Saturday in a doubleheader beginning at 11:30 a.m. following the Senior Day ceremony for Rowan's seniors.
