Cutrera Scores Career-High Seven Goals to Lead Women's Lacrosse Over Cabrini, 16-8

Profs extend winning streak to five games

Game Highlights

GLASSBORO, NJ - Senior Jamie Cutrera scored a career-high seven goals, and Hannah Lombardo contributed three goals and an assist, as the Rowan women's lacrosse team defeated Cabrini, 16-8, to extend its winning streak to five games and improve to 7-2 on the season.

Cutrera's effort marked the most goals by any Prof the season, and the most since Ashley Lechliter had seven against Kean in 2022.

The senior scored three of the Profs' first four goals, including her 20th of the year, to help Rowan stake an early 4-0 lead. Elaina Corson scored two in the first quarter and Trish Gillen and Hannah Lombardo each added one as the Profs led, 7-1, after one quarter of play.

Rowan's first goal of the second quarter also came from Cutrera, and although Cabrini notched goals, Lombardo scored her second to give the hosts a 9-3 lead at halftime.

Erin Renshaw opened the scoring in the second half and Molly Green followed with a free-position goal just 30 seconds later to give Rowan an 11-3 lead. The teams alternated goals the rest of the period as Cutrera added two more, with one assisted by Elaina Corson, and the other by Lombardo, to give Rowan a 13-5 advantage at the end of three.

Cabrini tallied the first two goals of the fourth quarter to cut the deficit to 13-7, but Lombardo netted her 10th of the year at 4:58 and Cutrera followed less than a minute later to build her team's lead back up to 15-7. Gillen scored the Profs' final goal, also her 10th of the season, with 3:30 to play and Cabrini's Olivia Little provided the final margin with a score at :49.

Reilly Shaup tied her career-high with 16 saves as she faced 24 shots on goal from the Cavaliers. Rowan put 27 shots on goal on Cabrini goalie Abbey Fenton, who came up with 11 saves.

Rowan heads to Christopher Newport on Saturday for a non-league matchup before returning home to host Susquehanna on April 5th.
