GLASSBORO, NJ -- #15 Rowan had its 2023 home opener on Wednesday and took care of business, taking two from visiting Rosemont, 9-1, and 10-2.
Between the games, head coach
Kim Wilson was presented with a commemorative ball to celebrate her 900th coaching victory that took place in last season's NCAA Tournament.
Korie Hague totaled five hits and five RBI's while
Rylee Lutz picked up the win in both victories as the Profs improve to 16-2 on the season.
Game one
Rowan came out firing early on, plating four runs in the first and three more in the second. Hague's RBI single in the sixth ended things as the Profs led 9-1.
RBI doubles from
Abigail Pawlowski,
Devyn DiPasquale, and Hague in that first inning helped the home squad get on the board. Hague added a big two-out, two-run base hit in the second as part of a three-run frame.
Gabbie Fonollosa, who tripled to lead off the third, later scored on an error to make it 8-0 after three.
Lutz started and went four innings, fanning five Ravens while allowing just one hit.
Veronica Goode spun two innings to help close it out.
Hague, (four RBI's) Pawlowski (two doubles), and
Payton MacNair all had three hits apiece.
Liz McCaffery scored three times.

Game two
The Profs scored twice in the third to break a 2-2 tie and eventually score the sweep over Rosemont.
Cat Thomas was 3-for-4 with a two-run homer in the first.
Grace Shukaitis tied a career high with three hits as the junior was 3-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI.
Thomas' fourth of the year and ninth career home run came after McCaffery reached on a two-out error, a massive shot to left that staked Rowan to a 2-0 edge. The Ravens countered with a two-run double off the bat of Analist Yoder in the third, tying things up.
Back-to-back RBI singles from Hague and
Breanna Bryant in the bottom half put the home squad back on top.
A bases-loaded clearing double from MacNair highlighted the fifth for a 9-2 advantage. In the sixth, Thomas led off the inning with a double. Goode came on to pinch run where she got to third on a groundout and later home on a wild pitch to end it and complete the sweep.
Lutz entered in the fourth for starter
Marina Costello, allowing only one hit in three scoreless innings to earn her second win on the day.
Rowan will head to Haverford on Saturday for a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
