The third-seeded Profs enter the contest after notching playoff wins in the first round over Ramapo, 69-65, last Saturday and a semifinal victory at Kean, 68-58, on Wednesday evening. The top-seeded Gothic Knights took down fourth-seeded TCNJ, 78-74, in Wednesday's other semifinal looking for its third conference championship in a row.
Rowan aims for its eighth title in program history, the last coming in the 2019-20 season. This year's squad is currently 19-8 and 13-5 in NJAC play while NJCU stands at 15-10 and had a 14-4 conference record.
Led by All-NJAC performers in
Nicole Mallard,
Grace Marshall, and
Danielle McCurdy, Rowan has won 11 of its last 12 games, but in its two meetings with NJCU in the regular season, it was the Gothic Knights winning both matchups; an 87-82 decision here on January 4th and a 93-76 setback in Jersey City on February 8th.
Mallard is the team's leading scorer, averaging 10 points a contest and Marshall is the team's top three-point threat with 31 triples made. McCurdy leads the NJAC with 60 blocks while
Dakota Adams is riding a hot streak, averaging 18 points and 10.5 rebounds in the two playoff games thus far.
Selections to the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament will be made on Monday, February 27th at 2:30 p.m. at NCAA.com
