MAHWAH, NJ – Ja'Zere Noel scored a career-high 37 points and Marcellus Ross had a personal best 30, but it wasn't enough as Ramapo rallied late to pick up a 110-106 overtime win over Rowan in an NJAC men's basketball matchup.
 
Noel connected on 15-of-23 (65.2 percent) from the field and was 5-of-7 from three-point range. Ross tied the school record with nine three-pointers made, as he made 9-of-11 from the arc, while going 10-for-14 (71.4 percent) from the field. Josh Wright came off the bench to score 10 points and Jamir Spivey grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.
 
Ramapo closed out regulation with a 15-2 run over the final four minutes to send the game into the extra period/ After a layup by Spivey gave the Profs a 91-78 lead, the Roadrunners heated up starting with Peter Gorman hitting back-to-back threes while Rowan went cold, scoring just two points. The Profs led, 93-88, at 1:20 after a layup by Noel, but Ramapo got a layup and then a three-pointer by Gorman with :02 left to send the game into OT.
 
Rowan led for 39 minutes in the contest, with the biggest lead being 86-72 with 6:28 remaining.
 
The Profs led the entire first half, and by as much 10 points, although Ramapo cut its deficit to 53-49 at halftime. Rowan was 11-for-19 from three-point range while Ross was a perfect 6-for-6 from behind the arc to net 21 points.
 
In the second half, Rowan took a 70-58 lead on consecutive baskets by Noel and maintained a double-digit lead until Ramapo started its late comeback.
 
The Profs play one more conference game before the holidays, visiting NJCU on Wednesday evening.
