Damarion Potts all garnered honors from the New Jersey Athletic Conference in its weekly awards for the week ending December 3rd.
Lorjuste was named the NJAC Women's Indoor Track & Field Track Athlete of the Week with Deal selected the NJAC Women's Field Athlete of the Week. The men took both awards as well with Young capturing the NJAC Indoor Track & Field Track Athlete of the Week and Potts the NJAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week.
Both the men's and women's teams opened the indoor season this past Friday at the FastTrack Invitational, turning in some top marks in Division III.
Lorjuste clocked in a PR and the top time in Division III in winning the 400 meters (56.88) and was part of the 4x400 relay that also turned in the #1 time so far this season (3:53.48). Deal took first place in the shot with a mark of 12.51 meters (#17 in Division III) and fourth in the weight throw for a new personal best mark of 13.96 meters.
Young won the 60 meter hurdles with a PR time and an #2 NCAA time of 8.02 and was the lead-off leg in the winning 4x400 relay (3:17.97) for a #3 NCAA time. Potts turned in two top 10 NCAA marks, first in the high jump (1.99 meters, #6 NCAA mark) and in the long jump (7.18 meters, #4 NCAA mark).
Both squads will return to action next month at the St. Thomas Aquinas Invitational on January 12 up at the Ocean Breeze Complex.
