Sidney Pavlishin scored the game's lone goal, and
Aida Ingram made four saves to earn the shutout, as #17 Rowan defeated Stockton 1-0, in NJAC field hockey action. Rowan (6-5; 1-1 NJAC), the defending conference champion, gets its first league win of the year while ending a nine-game winning streak for Stockton (9-3; 0-1).
Pavlishin's goal came at the start of the second quarter as she took a pass in the circle and moved through, connecting on a turnaround shot from close range. It was the fourth goal of the year for the sophomore and the second gamewinner of her career.
The lead held up for the Profs as Ingram turned back four shots in earning her second shutout, as Stockton took 11 shots and kept up the pressure throughout the game.
Rowan will head on the road on Saturday night for a non-league contest at St. Mary's (MD) with a 6:30 p.m. start and resume NJAC play on Friday, October 13
th hosting Kean in the kickoff to Homecoming Weekend.
