ST. MARY'S CITY, MD – St. Mary's built up an early lead en route to a 3-1 win over #17 Rowan in non-league field hockey action this evening and evens the Profs' record to 6-6 on the year.
The Seahawks didn't waste any time scoring, notching a goal just two minutes into the game by Hayden Kesner. St. Mary's added another in the second quarter, at 23:12, but Brenna Ziegler to take the 2-0 lead at halftime.
St. Mary's (7-4) added another goal at 35:12 as the Profs fell behind, 3-0.

Sarita Marshall scored her first goal of the season at 50:57 to help Rowan avoid the shutout.
Aida Ingram made three saves in the cage for Rowan, with St. Mary's holding a slim 8-6 margin in shots.
The Profs will return to action and conference play on Friday night, October 13, when they host Kean at 5:30 p.m. in the first event of Homecoming weekend.
